This alloy of Cobalt-Chromium-Molybdenum it meets the strictest requirements regarding biocompatibility and corrosion resistance. It is non-magnetic.
 
ASTM F1537 is especially applicable for medical implants (endoprothesis and osteosynthesis) wherever high mechanical stress is expected. It is also widely used in the watch making industry as well as other industries where hardness, toughness, ductility and corrosion resistance are required.
