AMS 4910 is an Aerospace Material Specification for Ti-5Al-2.5Sn, a titanium alloy sheet, strip, and plate. This near-alpha alloy is designated as Titanium Grade 6, distinct from the more common Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V). It is prized for its balance of strength, weldability, and high-temperature performance, making it ideal for aerospace applications.
Ti-5Al-2.5Sn (UNS R54520) is an alloy made up of 5% aluminum and 2.5% tin. It is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant alloy that is commonly used in the aerospace and defense industries. Grade 6 Ti-5Al-2.5Sn alloy has high service temperature of 480°C (896°F), medium strength, and excellent weldability and fabricability.
Ti-5Al-2.5Sn Sheet has good oxidation resistance and microstructure stability; however it is not heat-treatable.
