The ASTM B163 specification is a standard established by ASTM International that specifically covers seamless condenser and heat-exchanger tubes made from nickel and nickel-alloy materials. When this standard is applied to Incoloy 800 (UNS N08800), it defines the stringent requirements for the chemical, mechanical, and dimensional properties of these high-performance tubes.
Incoloy 800 Tube is a nickel-iron-chromium superalloy consisting of 30% nickel, 20% chromium, and 3% aluminum. Is a structural material that is corrosion resistant, high strength or oxidation resistant, carburization resistant, and high temperature resistant (maximum operating temperature of 870°C or 1600°F). The high nickel content maintains the austenitic structure, making the alloy ductile, and the nickel also helps resist scaling, general corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.
