Stainless steel 310/310S round bars are a type of stainless steel known for high heat and corrosion resistance. They are popular in various industries, such as petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing. 310/310S has good strength, and superior durability and corrosion resistance in carburizing environments.
Grade 310, also known as UNS S31000, is a heat-resistant alloy commonly used in high-temperature applications. It is composed of 24% chromium, 19% nickel, and 6% manganese. Its high chromium and nickel content gives it excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization, making it suitable for use in furnace parts and heat exchangers. Grade 310S, also known as UNS S31008, is a low-carbon variant of grade 310. It is commonly used in applications with high temperatures, but the material cannot be exposed to intergranular corrosion. The lower carbon content of 310S makes it less prone to carbide precipitation, a form of corrosion that can occur in high-temperature applications.

Grade 310 and 310S have excellent thermal fatigue and cyclic heating resistance, making them suitable for use in furnace parts, heat exchangers, and other high-temperature equipment. They also have good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion caused by exposure to chloride-containing environments. Both grades have high tensile strength and good flexibility in terms of mechanical properties. They also have good weldability and formability, making them easy to fabricate into various shapes and sizes. In terms of applications, stainless steel 310/310S round bars are often used in furnace parts, heat exchangers, and other high-temperature equipment in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing industries. They are also used in the production of gas turbine and aircraft parts and in the manufacture of furnace components and heat treatment equipment.
