AMS 5580 / UNS N06600 / Inconel 600 Seamless Tube

AMS 5580 is a specification for Inconel 600, or in generic form, alloy 600.

 

Alloy 600 (UNS N06600) is a nickel-chromium alloy, Nominal composition is 74% Nickel, 15.5% Chromium, and 8% Iron. Applicable material is in the form of Seamless Tubing.

 

With good oxidation resistance at high temperatures and resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking corrosion by high-purity water, and caustic corrosion. Used for furnace components, in chemical and food processing, in nuclear engineering and for the sparking electrodes.

 

Yield strength and tensile strength minimum values vary by size in AMS 5580 specification. Material is in the annealed condition.
