Heat Treatment
30CrNiMo8 is usually used in the quenched and tempered state, and its heat treatment process includes:
Quenching heating temperature: 840-860 ℃, cooled with water or oil
Tempering heating temperature: 480-540 ℃, cooled with water or oil to achieve different levels of hardness and strength, such as HRC48-52 to HRC32-36, depending on the tempering temperature.
Application Area
30CrNiMo8(1.6580) has a wide range of applications, mainly used for:
Modulation parts with high strength, high toughness, and large cross-sectional dimensions, such as forging machine drive shafts and forging machine crankshafts
High pressure chemical vessels with high pressure and frequent fluctuations
Fasteners, pressure pipelines, plastic molds
Main shaft forging of wind turbine generator set
Weldability
The weldability of 30CrNiMo8 depends on the content of its alloying elements. When the alloy element content is at the lower limit, the weldability is quite good, but when it approaches the upper limit, the weldability is moderate and needs to be preheated to above 175 ℃ before welding.
Processing capability
This steel has good machinability and moderate plasticity during cold deformation.
Special precautions
There is a first type of tempering brittleness in the temperature range of 300-350 ℃ during heat treatment
There is a tendency to form white spots
