GH5188

GH5188 alloy is a solid solution strengthened cobalt based high-temperature alloy. By adding 14% tungsten solid solution strengthening, GH5188 alloy has excellent high-temperature thermal strength. The addition of a high content of chromium and trace amounts of lanthanum gives the alloy good high-temperature oxidation resistance, as well as satisfactory forming and welding process properties.

 

GH5188 alloy is suitable for manufacturing parts on aircraft engines that require high strength below 980 ℃ and oxidation resistance below 1100 ℃. GH5188 alloy can also be used on space engines and shuttles. We can produce and supply various deformed products, such as thin plates, medium plates, strips, bars, forgings, wires, and precision castings.

Hot rolled sheet metal at 1170-1190 ℃, air-cooled; Cold rolled strip and plate at 1165-1230 ℃, rapid air cooling; Bars and forgings 1180 ℃± 10 ℃, rapid air cooling.

GH5188 alloy is widely used abroad in the manufacturing of high-temperature components for gas turbines and missiles, such as combustion chambers, tail nozzles, and heat exchangers in the nuclear energy industry.

 

The high-temperature components such as the combustion chamber flame tube and guide vanes of aircraft engines made of this alloy in China have passed long-term test runs and have been put into production application.

 

In the manufacturing process of parts made from GH5188 alloy sheets, any process (such as heat treatment, welding, etc.) should prevent carburization and copper contamination to avoid damaging the mechanical and corrosion resistance properties of the alloy.
