AMS 5643 standard 17-4PH stainless steel is an aerospace grade stainless steel that contains 4% copper and may be hardened by a single low-temperature precipitation hardening heat treatment, producing excellent mechanical properties at a high strength level, this grade of stainless steel has a typical density of 7.75kg/dm³ and can be magnetised.
17-4PH finds specific use in applications where a combination of unusually high strength and moderate corrosion resistance is a determining factor. The alloy has similar corrosion resistance characteristics when compared to 304 stainless steel.
With a smooth surface finish and precise dimensions, 17-4 stainless steel bars are ideal for use in natural gas/petroleum/oil, aerospace, thermal, and chemical applications.
