AMS5528 is a specification that covers 17-7 precipitation-hardening stainless steel. This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of sheet, strip, and plate.
17-7PH provides valuable property combinations particularly well suited for aerospace applications. This special alloy also provides benefits for other applications requiring high strength and good corrosion resistance, as well as excellent properties for flat springs at temperatures up to 315°C (600°F ).
17-7PH stainless steel, as specified by AMS5528, can be heat-treated to achieve various mechanical properties depending on the application. It is particularly valued for its ability to withstand tough conditions while maintaining both formability and durability, making it an ideal choice for critical structural and high-stress applications.
